CCMS UPDATE:
Good afternoon everyone ...
On December 30, 2008 members of CCMS were invited to attend a meeting at the City Council Legislative Office, supporter, Councilman Leroy Comrie and Alan Gerson. We were given a revised copy of Intro 416A, by Gerson, with changes made that only address 2 conditions. It would appear that these changes were made to pacify the community and not because they heard or concerns. The problem with the revised Draft are many and too large to address in a bulletin. AT NO TIME WERE WE ASSURED THAT INTRO 416 WOULD BE DEFERRED UNTIL A NEW HEARING COULD BE HELD OR AT THE VERY LEAST UNTIL A PANEL OF EXPERTS COULD BE CONVENED. INSTEAD MR. GERSON ADVISED US THAT IF THE BILL IS PASSED, PROBABLY IN JANUARY, WE COULD POSSIBLY HAVE ANOTHER MEETING TO ADDRESS ITS PROGRESS. This NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! Remember the City Council has met the 2 hearing requirement ... at this juncture they could just be pacifying the hell out of us!!! Let Us not get caught sleeping!!! We urge YOU to continue the fight ....
