True"dirt bikes" aren't legal for road use,and the scramblers that are suffer from tightly geared for trail-riding. One of the few exceptions is the KTM 450-EXC, which has proper emissions gear as well as lights, morrir, horn and turn signals and also a highway friendly 6-speed gearbox. The EXC has the same huge front and rear suspension travel, boulder bashing crankcase clearance and narrow stance as it's off road only stablemates,as well as the same new 449cc single cylinder 4-stroke engine.(Emissions controls and a quiet muffler subtact 3 horsepower.)

KTM is an Austrian company that mainly makes competition worthy off road bikes and knows that any of it's products can go str8 from the dealer ship to a racetrack. That's all very nice if you have a pick-up and can strap your bike in back, but if you want the unique thrill of off-road and also commuting or casual riding, the $8,198 - 450EXC and it's $8,498 BIGGER-ENGINE BROTHER,The 530EXC,are just about the only GAME IN TOWN!
